The Season of Light
"The third week of December always reintroduces us to light. The equinox marks the lengthening of daylight hours and offers the hope of warmth
and renewed life. Christmas celebrates the birth of Lord Jesus, who not only shined a great and beautiful light on the world, but reminded us that we too, "are the lights of the world." Chanukah celebrates the miracle of the holy lights of the temple lasting for eight days with only one day's worth of oil. My Guru, Sri Swami Satchidananda, a great example and exponent of the Divine Light in all, was born on the 22nd of December. Light, light, light - all around us. Take time - make the time, if needed, to look within to seek that Divine Light. It is in you as your True Nature. Do this through prayer, meditation, and especially
through selfless service to others. There are so many opportunities to serve at this holy time of year. Don't miss even one.
